If you own a .it domain on Register, you’ll be glad to know you can transfer it quickly and easily within Flazio Domains.
As you may have already seen, Flazio Domains is a domain hosting service that lets you manage your .it domains independently, at a truly competitive price.

The procedure to move your .it domain from Register to Flazio Domains is easy, requires no special knowledge, and you can do it at any time.
You should know, in fact, that unlike gTLD domains, i.e. Generic top-level domain (or generic top-level domains), the .it extension is not subject to the rule that prevents transfers in the first 60 days after purchase or migration, and in the 15 days before expiry. This is because the .it domain is a ccTLD, i.e. Country Code top-level domains (or national top-level domain).
The authority that manages these domains is the NIC (Network Information Center) which in Italy is identified as Registro.it.
To transfer your domain, you’ll need to obtain the transfer code, or Authcode. Some also call it Authinfo or migration code, others authorization code or EPP (Extensible Provisioning Protocol).
The code in question can be numeric, alphabetic, or alphanumeric, with the addition of special characters.
The code is also case-sensitive, so it’s always best to copy and paste to avoid mixing up letters like lowercase L with uppercase I, or having to type special characters from the keyboard.
The Register code often starts with AI- (i.e. uppercase A and uppercase I) and is very often confused with Al (uppercase A and lowercase L), for this reason the best way not to make mistakes is to use copy and paste.
You can find the code inside your Customer Area on Register, so first of all, log in to your Customer Area.
Find the domain you want to transfer in the box on your right and click Domain and DNS.
In the panel that opens, choose Auth-info Code.
Finally click Send Code, to receive an email containing the transfer code.
As soon as you receive the email, write down the code because you’ll need it later.
Sometimes it may happen that Register locks the domain to prevent unwanted transfers.
This is an additional protection measure, but it can be resolved simply by requesting the domain to be unlocked.
To do this, still within Domain and DNS, you’ll find the item Transfer Lock.
By entering the panel, you’ll be able to set the unlock of the domain in question to Unlock. Finally click Proceed to confirm the change.
The unlock procedure may take 2-3 days to complete.
After unlocking the domain, you’ll be able to request the transfer code as indicated above.
We remind you that the transfer procedure involves deactivating all services active on the domain with the previous provider, and this also includes any registered email accounts.
For this reason we strongly recommend making a backup of all mail received so far, so you don’t lose your history.

Now that you have the transfer code, you can use it to migrate the domain within Flazio Domains.
Sign up to our platform, if you haven’t already, or log in directly with your credentials.
In your dashboard, click the New Domain button you’ll find inside the Domains section.
Enter the name of the domain you want to transfer and then click Check. The system will recognize it as taken, but you’ll see a button just above the domain name, labeled Transfer.
Clicking it, the system will ask you to enter the transfer code (Authcode). Paste the Register code you copied earlier and click Transfer.
The next step requires entering the personal details of the holder you want to register the domain to.
At the end, click Confirm and complete the payment.
You will have started the domain transfer procedure.
From this moment, Flazio Domains will communicate with Register requesting the release of the domain. It will then inform the NIC of the change and communicate the new domain registration data.
This procedure can take up to 8 days, and it is a fully automated process.
All you have to do is wait for the domain to be activated within Flazio Domains.
